First Milk increase 0.5ppl for Sept'18

 

First Milk has confirmed it is to increase its milk price by 0.5ppl from Sept 1.

This increase being the third consecutive monthly increase taking the total to 2.5ppl, takes our liquid standard litre—4%b/f & 3.3% prot. Bactoscans of 30,000/ml & SCC’s of 200,000/ml, 1mltrs/yr on EODC (max vehicle accessibility) but before seasonality, monthly profile payments, balancing charges, capital deductions or annual / part annual growth incentive schemes not directly linked to dairy market price movement—price up from 28ppl to 28.5ppl

Based on our manufacturing standard litre—4.2%b/f & 3.4% prot. Bactoscans of 30,000/ml & SCC’s of 200,000/ml, 1mltrs/yr on EODC (max vehicle accessibility) but before seasonality, monthly profile payments, balancing charges, capital deductions or annual / part annual growth incentive schemes not directly linked to dairy market price movement—and before full pricing detail is seen, the increase should take the price up 0.52ppl from 28.95ppl to 29.47ppl.

Our price for suppliers in the Tesco Cheese Group also increases by 0.52ppl to 30.97ppl (based on the premium of 2ppl averaging around 1.5ppl when taking the seasonal profile of milk pool into account).

Commenting on the announcement, farmer director and vice chairman, Jim Baird, said: “We appreciate the additional costs that members are experiencing due to the adverse weather conditions and I am sure this increase will be welcomed in facing these challenges. Whilst there continues to be conflicting messages on the overall market direction, we remain focussed on growing our business and passing the benefits of this back to members.”
